The other instrument in this duet is the Room, an electronic track comprised of sounds made by objects found in my bedroom as well as sounds that can be heard from my bedroom. In this part, such sounds include medals, cups, drawers, rubber bands, door springs, rocks, jewlery, paper, fans, drumsticks, pens/pencils, and perfume sprays, as well as the sound of an airplane and birds, among others. The room is alive, fully in possession of its own identity, and throughout the piece is personified in conversation with the trombone.
